The Pineywoods BEYOND Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our community through education, outreach, and revitalization projects. From supporting families in need to promoting local arts and literacy, we believe in building a better Zavalla—together. 

Our Goals

At Pineywoods BEYOND Foundation, our goal is to create lasting, positive change in Zavalla and the surrounding Pineywoods communities. We believe that by addressing real needs and working together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more vibrant community. Here’s what we’re working toward:

Promote Literacy & Education

• Revitalize Zavalla’s Little Free Library and campaign for the opening of a Public Library to promote reading in the community.
  
  

• Organize literacy programs and tutoring opportunities for students.
  
  

• Provide teen pregnancy prevention education and promote responsible decision-making.
  
  

• Advocate for educational resources and opportunities for all ages.
  
  

Fight Food Insecurity

• Develop a Community Garden where residents can grow and share fresh produce.
  
  

• Support local food pantries and host food drives for families in need.
  
  

Empower Through Skills & Vocational Training

• Offer job readiness workshops and trade skills training for students and adults.
  
  

• Provide life skills classes like budgeting, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  
  

• Create mentorship programs that prepare youth and adults for career success.
  
  

Enrich Community & Promote the Arts

• Collaborate with local artists and students to paint  community murals honoring Zavalla’s history.
  
  

• Host arts, crafts, and creative workshops to inspire and connect community members.
  
  

Revitalize Public Spaces & Community Pride

• Raise funds to improve Zavalla’s city park, adding new playground equipment and making it a safe, family-friendly space.
  
  

• Organize beautification projects to enhance public spaces and foster community pride.
  
  

• Launch creative projects to bring tourism to our beautiful forest regions and our side of Lake Sam Rayburn.

• Work toward building a Community Center, providing a space for education, events, family activities, and resources for those in need.   
  
  

These goals are just the beginning.
With the help of volunteers, donors, and community partners, we believe Zavalla can become a place where families thrive, neighbors support each other, and opportunities grow.
